We're looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our RegTech startup.

As an Accounting Specialist, you will assist and support Apiax’ Finance team across different regions with accounting and controlling tasks. An outstanding Accounting Specialist should be detailed-oriented and able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills.

What you will be tasked to do:

  • Manage the monthly accounting records in accordance with the accounting principles;

  • Assist with the preparation of annual audits;

  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures;

  • Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals receipts, and invoices;

  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner;

  • Maintain the chart of accounts;

  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions;

  • Comply with local government reporting requirements and tax filings;

  • Collaboration with third-party service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field;

  • 2-3 years proven experience of the full accounting process;

  • Good understanding of international finance;

  • Experience with Xero Accounting Software is a plus (not mandatory);

  • Very good time and self-management;

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data;

  • A responsible and structured way of working as well as assertiveness, reliability, and discretion;

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a good command of written and spoken English;

  • Portuguese/EU Passport.
